Uses

Limited to testing, studying, and educating

Detailed criteria for sales

  • Refined natural products can be sold under the condition that the product is used for testing, researching, and educating only.
  • The Application for the Sale of Natural products, List, and Purchase Contracts are to be prepared, printed, and signed, and they must be sent to the National Institute of Korean Medicine Development by fax or mail.
  • The products sold shall not be resold to a third party without the consent of the National Institute of Korean Medicine Development.

01Submission and reception of a sales application
  • An applicant for a free sale of the material shall use the original form of the Korean Medicine Materials Bank to complete a sale application and the plan for using the sold materials and submit the said form.
  • The library shall be, in principle, sold free of charge for searching activities for joint development.
02Distribution application evaluation
  • The Korean Medicine Materials Bank shall, based on the documents submitted, consider the existing agreements, overlapping with the existing studies, the possibility of achieving a tangible result from using the material, and the need for joint research and development, etc., to evaluate the application for sale of the material and send the written result to the applicant.
03Notification of the results of reviews, preparation of contracts
  • Once the sale of the material is decided, the applicant shall prepare and submit the original form of the Korean Medicine Materials Bank for a written agreement for the free-of-charge sale of the material.
  • The terms and conditions of the agreement may be negotiable.
04Reception of the material
  • The libraries that are sold shall be, in principle, handed over in person. However, upon request from the applicant, the library can be sent via post or courier.
  • However, any contamination, change, or damages, etc., that could happen to the library while being shipped shall be the liabilities of the applicant.
  • The applicant shall check for any defects in the materials so distributed and contact the officer in charge of the sale of natural product at the Korean Medicine Materials Bank immediately if any defect is found via phone or email. If there is no defect, the applicant shall prepare and submit a written confirmation of the material’s receipt.
05Achievement of results
  • The applicant shall, within three months from the date of shipping, submit a report on how the applicant plans to use the results from the utilization of the library. However, the date by which the said report shall be submitted may be postponed to a total of six months maximum. And, the applicant shall submit the said report of the results of utilization by the agreed deadline.
  • The number of libraries sold each time shall be one plate for a single study project. If the applicant wishes to have more than one plate, the desired amount and purpose shall be specified in the application, and the acceptance of such a request shall be determined through mutual negotiation.

01Submission and reception of a sales application
  • The person who wishes to purchase a library must submit an application form for library sales and a written plan on how the library, which is sold free of charge, is to be utilized using the forms and templates of the National Products Bank.
  • The library shall be, in principle, sold free of charge for searching activities for joint development.
02Review of sales
  • The availability of the material in stock and its purity will be reviewed to decide for the sales, and the applicant shall be notified of the result.
03Notification of the results of reviews, Issuance of a quotation and payment
  • Once the sale of the material is confirmed, a quotation shall be issued by the Korean Medicine Materials Bank to the applicant.
  • The amount from the quotation shall be paid via a credit card or a bank transfer.
04Reception of the material
  • The libraries that are sold shall be, in principle, handed over in person. However, upon request from the applicant, the library can be sent via post or courier.
  • However, any contamination, change, or damages, etc., that could happen to the library while being shipped shall be the liabilities of the applicant.
  • The applicant shall check for any issues or defects of the libraries that it received and, if any such issues or defects are found, contact the person in charge at the National Institute of Korean Medicine Development via phone or email immediately to confirm any defects or anomalies. If there are no issues or defects with the product, the applicant shall submit a written confirmation of the receipt to the person in charge.
